Rustic French

Bonjour et Bienvenue `a My Little Paris

I've spoken before about "my people"..........about those generous souls who have given of their time and expertise, who have propped me up, kept me from "going under", those who have listened and worked tirelessly to help me corral my ever changing thoughts into what has come to be, "My Little Paris." One of the best things about undertaking a project like this is the people. I've come to value, so much, the dear friends that I have........and family that has hovered, kindly, in the background.......stepping up whenever needed. I appreciate it more than you might ever know.

A good friend, called me the other day............said she had something for me, and could I stop by. So, I did. She presented me with the lovliest little note cards with scenes of France, and the Eiffel Tower on them. I was so touched. She said that she'd been shopping and when she saw them, she thought of me. It's special moments like that that have touched me throughout this...................

And there are new friends...............the very talented woman I've met that paints a lot of the furniture that you'll find in the boutique........my favorite sales rep, who's helped me navigate the orders, and backorders and invoicing headaches..........and my newest friend.............who builds rustic furniture from barn wood. His pieces are just little gems, and I am so excited to be able to have them for you at the boutique.

These pieces, while entirely Saskatchewan, do resemble the rustic furniture used throughout rural France at the turn of the century. Made from barn stalls and beams, they're sturdy, and serviceable and simple in their beauty.

This little cupboard is one of my favorites. It reminds me so much of the kitchen cupboard that was used in our old cottage for decades, it's where the dishes were kept. Sadly, like so many of it's kind, it is gone...............but, not forgotten, thanks to those who bring these lovely old pieces to life again...................

As always........
