Looking Back

Bonjour et Bienvenue `a My Little Paris

Well, the excitement and pressure of the opening is behind me now and I can settle into the loveliness of  My Little Paris.........I can enjoy the playful part of the business, the whimsical side, and maybe let loose, a little of this creative energy that I have....... I think it will always be a work in progress..........and I like that. I was approached by several people at the opening, who have vintage treasures of their own that they are willing to part with, and I'm thrilled to say that it's possible that these things will find their way into the boutique.

I treated myself for the opening and had  this beautiful bouquet done in a vintage pitcher that I've had for years..........Beth at Grainger's always "gets" what I'm looking for and she knows I love roses and softness and anything quirky, and as always, she came through. My good friend Arlene came to the opening and brought me the lovely arrangement below, Beth did it too and the two bouquets were a perfect compliment to each other and to the boutique.

It came as no surprise to me to realize that it was the people that made the opening so special........for without them, Friday May 19 and Saturday May 20 would have been pretty ordinary days. Thanks to my good friend Aimee (who started this whole thing in the first place) for providing and delivering dozens and dozens of delicate, delicious French pastries................yummm.............to my daughter Erin, for hanging out with me at the boutique through the entire opening.........she's always around to pick up the pieces and fill in the gaps. Thanks to Sandi and Ellery for driving out from the city to celebrate with me, and to Cheryl, from Calgary, for making a point of being there. Thanks to sister-in-laws (you know who you are lol) and neighbours and clients and friends...........you all had a part in making the opening so special.

And................going forward..............you know where I'll be........ Fridays from 9-4 and Saturdays from 9-1 through the summer.................

As Always..............
